Academics

Academics members: Practice Questions and Tests
If you have any questions about the Academics Team, please contact Cadet Ensign Claire Weng through Facebook Messenger
The Ranger Company Academics Team is one of the many competition teams hosted by the unit, and therefore open only to current cadets; at Clements, we highly value academic excellence, and the same zeal goes for academic teams and endeavors. Especially since we managed to score 2nd at state last year.

However, what makes the NJROTC Academic Team unique is the emphasis on Naval Science, Leadership, and other knowledge not learned through average high school coursework.

This combination creates a dynamically difficult competition system that sets it apart from any other. We compete on regional, state, and national levels in different levels & sources of competitions, setting us apart from many traditional academic teams that focus on one specific competition; because of this, participation is always open and changing-one day there might be a need for a team of 5; on another, there may be a need for 15.

Do you want to identify the missions and capabilities of aircraft and ships? Learn about international sea law? What about the Principles of Leadership that will bring about success? Excited and eager to discuss current events in the news? Military Drill, Customs and Courtesies? How about the history of sea trade, navigation, travels, wars…fitness, health, and science TOO!

WE DO IT ALL, and we’d love you to join!

NJROTC loves its Academic Cadets.

The Academics Award is the most highly decorative award out there, as it is the only one authorized for wear with lamps, anchors, stars, gold torches, as well as the Team Captain’s Anchor…together, on the same award. That is, assuming you earn all the bling that goes on the award.

A bright shoulder team cord (Aiguillette) can make your uniform stand out from the crowd. Of medals, Academic ones are the most senior to all others, when worn.

Distinguished many times at competition, and one of the top teams in the state, we of the Clements NJROTC Academics Team look forward to seeing you next year, and getting 1st at the Area 10 State Championships!
